Let's dive into it.

Read This If You Want To Level Up

I want to share a quick story.

Something strange happened this week.

Within the space of 48 hours, ALL of my financial institutions declined payments and started giving error messages for various reasons.

At the time, it seemed impossible that they were unrelated.

Carl in 2021 would have been stressed.

I would have asked, “why is everything working against me.”

Then I would have probably pretended like it didn’t happen (ostrich effect).

Stuck my head in the sand and waited until I literally could not avoid the problem anymore to take action.

Instead, I got straight to it.

Contacted support for all of my fintech apps.

Within 1 hour TOTAL, I was able to get everything sorted.

Turns out I just needed to update my information.

A much-needed update at that, as I am now much more aligned and my information is a lot more consistent.

Within 10 minutes of finishing updating my information, a client I had agreed to terms with reached out to me.

It was on my to-do list to reach out to him, but he beat me to it.

Within 30 minutes he had received and paid an invoice and now we commence a new project together.

What am I saying?

Two lessons

  1. Never let resistance compound

Avoiding situations is seldom/never the answer to finding a solution.

Delaying action to make a smart decision is wise, however, action is the only way to move forward.

The longer you delay action, the more work that needs to be done to fix the problem when you face it.

In my experience, the solution to most problems is much simpler than you think.

What you think could be 2 hours on the phone with support could be as simple as changing an email address.

Face the problems head-on, ask for help, and never let the problems grow out of hand.

Onward

  1. Everything breaks when you level up

Consistently throughout my journey, I have seen this to be true.

As soon as you get close to achieving new heights, the unthinkable happens.

You can never account for it but you get accustomed to it happening.

I see it as the universe giving you a test.

Are you willing to resolve the chaos and move to a higher level?

Or will you delay action and stay in your comfort zone?

Most times you never understand how close you are to a breakthrough.

All you can see is an obstacle.

Sometimes the obstacle looks massive.

Sometimes you are just so exhausted from overcoming past obstacles.

Regardless, you MUST push through.

Failure to do so will delay your level up for months, sometimes years.

Have you ever done something and thought to yourself, “This is exactly what I wanted to do 1 year ago, but I decided to do something else?”

Well, I have been there personally, it’s not the best feeling.

Pull your success forward to the present.

The only thing stopping you from acting and being a higher version of yourself is you.

Cliche, but true.

That’s all for today.

I hope you enjoyed my Ted Talk.
