Making The Daily Choice To Be Great
Hello 👋🏾
Welcome to edition #070 of the Chase Growth Newsletter!
A peek behind the scenes of what I am building.
One letter goes as frequently as makes sense encompassing but not confined to:
Tech + Systems To Build Your Brand/Business Online
Curated Content Creation Concepts
Personal Performance Tips
Today's edition be a 4 minute read.
Let's dive into it.
Going Pro
For most of my adult life i have been fascinated by one thought…
the though of becoming a “pro.”
As an athlete, this is a clear outcome…
Putting pen to paper and gaining money in exchange for playing.
Or, so I thought.
In reality, “going pro” is a mindset
It’s about:
showing up daily regardless of how you feel
taking risks that give you the best chance of success
surrounding yourself with people who can make you better
Most importantly, it is NOT a destination, it is a daily COMMITMENT.
After I got let go from a marketing firm in December, one thing was clear for me.
I was mis-aligned.
I had “put pen to paper.”
I was getting paid to do something I love — Marketing.
However, I was not committed to improving daily.
I was concerned with finishing my to-do list so I could build my passions.
Getting let go hurt, but it forced me to make a decision.
I was going to go pro.
This was less about money and more about impact.
So what did that look like for me?
Becoming deeply aligned with my passions.
I love marketing, yes, but why?
Because I see it as a tool I can use to amplify the messages I care about.
Things like:
peak performance
wholistic health
mindfullness
So I looked within and started with what I know best, training.
I quickly started working with clients after applying my marketing knowledge.
After seeing how easily I was able to succeed in this area it made me think…
There must be other people who need help signing clients.
But I knew I couldn't help everyone.
How could I advance a cause I care about (the only way to stay motivated).
I had to help football coaches.
Why?
My impact as a trainer and coach is limited by my time and geographic location.
If I can help other coaches build their businesses, the narrative changes.
Now, I can extend my impact by empowering others.
It was a no-brainer really.
And the results from working with these populations was instant.
Now my days are full.
Not full of boring to-do list work.
Full of working with clients to help them maximize their potential.
Full of seeing people achieve heights they didn’t think possible only week prior.
Full of long hours committed to showing up as my best self in every circle.
Is it tiring? yes
Is it scary? extremely
is it worth it? time will tell
What I do know? There isn’t anything I would rather be doing right now.
That gives me peace.
It’s no longer about the outcome. Each day I wake up, I commit to being a pro.
As we move into May, be sure to show up for yourself and the missions you care about.
Not only for the outcomes or income, but for the impact.
Milestones come and go…the emotions you make others feel last forever.
