Hello 👋🏾

A peek behind the scenes of what I am building online.

Today's edition be a 4 minute read.
Let's dive into it.
How To Increase Online Conversion Rates
What’s up, guys?
Another weekend, another newsletter.
As some of you may have noticed, these emails are arriving on Sundays and even the odd Monday now as opposed to Saturdays.
I’ve recently been prioritizing building and moving the needle over everything else, so I kinda end up scrambling to write these emails.
With that being said, the stuff I have to write about is much more interesting because I am creating actual value.
I guess something has to give.
But heck, my goal WAS and IS to send out one email per week, not necessarily one email on Saturday. So…on that note, we move. Onward.
This week I want to touch base on something that has evolved the way I think about business online.
Previously, I shared the concept of the funnel and its importance to any business.
In online business in particular, the best part is that you can track conversions at each level of the funnel. (In a good online business anyway)
Whilst building my new product for Footytutor and promoting it, a few things have become clear:
There is demand for this type of solution (I was able to generate leads easily)
People think the product is a good idea and cool concept (Early feedback)
My sales page was $hit
As mentioned, I chose to use Whop as my bottom-of-funnel conversion point.
In retrospect, not the best decision ever.
Whilst building on the platform I was unimpressed with:
buggy UI and UX
no ability to alter branding
little flexibility to change the layout
Combining those elements and the lack of social proof, I do not think people felt comfortable making a payment on the platform.
This resulted in lots of signups for the free product (people love freebies), but no paid conversions on the actual website.
So, last week I set out to fix this.
My solution? Build my own landing page.
I am no stranger to building light websites, i’ve tried more than 5 different platforms for building sales funnels of some type
My favorite to this point? Webflow.
Why Webflow?
many online tutorials
seamless design process
translates perfectly from Figma
easy to integrate with other tools for automation
beautiful UX and UI system (I am a geek for good product design)
The list goes on.
So I got to the building.
The more I gain experience in this field, the more I realize that you should NEVER reinvent the wheel.
Start from a place where other people have had success and make the changes necessary to make it your success.
The starting point of my build was to find an already winning landing page that was selling a digital product on Notion.
Luckily for me, I had saved a landing page from one of my favorite creators in the past.
When I took a look through my swipe file, I found it and it was brilliant.
I quickly built out the framework, designed the visuals, and threw everything together in about 3-4 days.
I LOVE UI and UX design.
It’s why I think I am so good at content. (rare self-praise here)
It’s because I always think about the user and how I can interact with them on a level they would enjoy.
I think that comes out in all of my work.
UI/UX design especially allows me to flex this muscle, it’s truly fun for me.
Anyway, with the website built, I connected my payment processor and set up a few back-end automations for product delivery, and viola!
A new landing page ready for testing!
In this case, I am creating a new website/landing page to increase my conversion rate.
But there are many elements to this.
Over time I will be testing different visuals, copy, and even pricing to see what converts best.
But for now, we use this as a starting point and collect data as soon as possible.
The transformation 👇🏾
Next week I will have some data to share on if I increased my CVR.
Fingers crossed. Wishing you a great week ahead.
