I Spent 2 Weeks With 140+ Young Leaders

Hi guys, how are you doing?

As I write this I am sitting in a cozy cafe in London.

I can hear the high-pitched cling clang of cutlery chiming ever so slightly above the background music of Frank Ocean’s Novacane.

A cool breeze sweeps through the cafe and raises the aroma of fresh coffee.

A pretty good morning. Slow. Relaxing.

A huge contrast to my life experience for the past two weeks.

As mentioned in my last letter, I was selected to represent my country in Greece at the Young Olympic Ambassadors Academy, a wing of the International Olympic Academy.

In sum, this was one of the richest experiences I have had in my life.

The event had 140+ representatives from countries all around the world.

During my time I learned about:

Olympism
Olympic values
Greek Mythology

All of this was very eye-opening and perspective-building.

However, what was most impactful?

Experiencing and learning about the cultures of the other participants.

Fundamentally, I began to understand that even though we have different cultural backgrounds, our goals and aspirations are comparable, as well as the barriers we face and the actions we need to take to overcome them.

If I were to dive into depth of all the things I learned, this letter would be a small book.
